Best Before Midnight was first developed as a show jumper, but then made a career switch to dressage and today has a performance record at FEI level (up to Inter I). Best Before Midnight also won the jumping portion in his stallion performance test. Best Before Midnight is a stallion with versatile talent which is shown consistently in his offspring. Best Before Midnight’s sire, Sir Shostakovich xx founded a highly performance proven new stallion line in the Trakehner breed. Among his high-profile sons are the Olympic eventer Boettcher's Longchamps”, the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** placed, “Lester Piggott” and the premium stallion, “Chateauneuf” (S level show jumping, M level dressage) the approved international show jumper “Donau Monarch”, the approved S level show jumper “Couleur-Fuerst”, “Invincible Sir”, another S level dressage stallion. Dam sire of Best Before Midnight, Bajar ShA, was the most successful Shagya Arabian in the Trakehner breed after WWII. He produced a number of international performance horses including Olympians in show jumping and eventing (Balzac, White Girl TSF, Bergell) and also founded a stallion line in the Holsteiner breed, where he was fully approved. This became one of the most successful sport horse families of the entire Trakehner breed, with a special focus on event horses and show jumpers. Dam Virginian Sky’s dam, Virginian Girl xx was a champion steeplechaser in Germany racing for 7 seasons. She was bred to Best Before Midnight several times, producing siblings that are successful competition horses in Germany. The tail family of Virginian Sky also stands for the outstanding major sires Northern Dancer xx, Secretariat xx, Charlottown xx, Ballymoss xx, Busted xx, Hurry On xx, Precipitation xx, and Sir Gaylord xx. Trakehner stallions from this family include Amor II and Astronaut. Amor II is known in North America as the sire of the CCI** Bromont winner and Trakehner approved eventing sire Amethyst. This TB family also produced Xucar xx (jumper sire in the Trakehner breed, sire of approved son Protector), the FEI show jumpers Belle Doudou, Lolipop, Tinapaei xx, and Caratella as well as Hunter/Jumper Un Beerenauslese (appr., USA), and the approved Westfalian For Romadour (Bundeschampionat Dressage 2011) Alleged xx, an influential sire found in the Trakehner-approved stallions Allegrador xx and Fly Society xx. This is the same family as multiple registries approved stallion Sea Lion xx, a four-star eventer in the US. Virginian Girls dam sire Limbo xx won some of Germany's most prestigious youngster races and was third in the German Derby in 1978. His sire Pentathlon xx was an influential racehorse and sire in Europe and several of his sons, grandsons and granddaughters found their way into the German warmblood breeds, mostly because of their athletic abilities and their good work ethic. The Anglo Arabian Don Pedro AA for example, a son of Pentathlon xx, show jumped at advanced levels and produced upper-level eventers and show jumpers himself. Pentathlon xx is also the sire of the Trakehner-approved Frescobaldi xx, sire of upper-level dressage horses. Offspring: His first offspring so far show incredible athleticism, wonderful work ethics and seem to enjoy human companionship quite a bit. Virginian Sky is a homozygous gray stallion therefore his offspring are all gray. His oldest offspring are coming up the ranks successfully competing in eventing, dressage, jumping and hunters, they show incredible athleticism, wonderful work ethics and enjoy human companionship quite a bit. “Of Wind N Sky FSF” won the Novice Area VI championships in 2019 and is currently competing Preliminary with her Young Rider. “Biscotti” was the High score mare at the 2019 breed inspection. “Bodega Sky” was a premium foal. All mares presented by Virginian Sky Virginian have been approved with high scores. “Virginian Sky” is a Royally bred refining Trakehner stallion carrying a full-blooded pedigree. His pedigree contains more descendants with Olympic, international, and top-level national performance in all 3 Olympic disciplines than can be found in any other comparably blooded licensed stallion. With “Sky” there is no longer a reason to compromise performance for refinement.
